LETS BUILD YOUR FASHION SENSE (6)

Lets us move on to possessive adjective.

note:
this is very important...so take it seriously

We use possessive adjectives to show who owns or "possesses" something. The possessive adjectives are:
  • my, your, his, her, its, our, their
  • whose (interrogative)

FASHION TIPS!

compare:

your = possessive adjective
you're = you are

its = possessive adjective
it's = it is OR it has

their = possessive adjective
they're = they are

there = adverb (I'm not going there / look over there / there is a car outside)

whose = possessive adjective

who's = who is OR who has

note:Be careful! There is no apostrophe (') in the possessive adjective "its". We use an apostrophe to write the short form of "it is" or "it has". For example:
it's raining = it is raining
it's finished = it has finished

I'm taking my dog to the vet. It's broken its leg.

LETS BUILD YOUR FASHION SENSE (1)

Lets us start building your fashion sense!!!

Adjectives describe or give information about nouns or pronouns.
For example:-
        • The grey dog barked. (The adjective grey describes the noun "dog").

 good news:

the form of an adjective does not change. It does not matter if the   noun being modified is male or female, singular or plural, subject or object.(unisex FASFHION :P)

Some adjectives give us factual information about the noun - age, size colour etc (fact adjectives - can't be argued with). Some adjectives show what somebody thinks about something or somebody - nice, horrid, beautiful etc (opinion adjectives - not everyone may agree).

If you are asked questions with which, whose, what kind, or how many, you need an adjective to be able to answer.
exp:
  • What skirt can i wear to the dinner tonite? (plain, pencil-shaped)
  • which shoes suit my red kebaya? (covered, flat)

There are different types of adjectives in the English language:
  • Numeric: six, one hundred and one
  • Quantitative: more, all, some, half, more than enough
  • Qualitative: colour, size, smell etc.
  • Possessive: my, his, their, your
  • Interrogative: which, whose, what
  • Demonstrative: this, that, those, these
!Note - The articles a, an, and the and the possessives my, our, your, and their are also adjectives.
